- Am I buying mobile phone insurance?
Mobile phone insurance is a product which is now covered by
FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) regulations. Most policies are payable on an annual or monthly basis and will replace the item if it
is lost, stolen or damaged which we can't do, but your policy will not compensate you for the lost images, music or other personal data
that was on the device. Although useful, these contracts are often expensive and may duplicate cover that you already have or
could get cheaper elsewhere either from your bank or under your household contents policy. For more details about whether you
would benefit from specific insuance cover, take a look at this post about phone insurance
Also insurance cover is not available or appropriate for items which are inexpensive but have a sentimental value to you. The
service we offer is to increase the chance of getting a lost item back by making it as easy as possible for the finder to return
it to you.
- Is there an annual fee?
Your smart asset tags last for as long as you own your items, this is what makes them such great value for money. We offer you
two great promises. The first is a lifetime guarantee: If your dots wear out for any reason, we will replace them free of charge. The second is
a double your money back waranty: We are so sure that you will find these QR codes useful that if you don't like them for any reason, let us know
within 30 days and we will cancel your order and refund double your money
- Do you offer a returns service?
we are launcing the service with only a basic account but we have great plans for the future, one of which is an assisted recovery.
Our cost model makes use of the latest internet technologies to fully automate the communication between the loser and the finder so that we don't
have to get involved - This is how we can offer such a good price for the services.
- Why do I need to provide two mobile numbers?
The primary method of alerting you that an item has been found is by text message (SMS). You don't NEED to give us two numbers,
but if it is your main phone that is lost, it is a bit pointless sending a text message to it. In this instance we will send it to your backup
phone(s) so that the people you are with may get it instead. You may have to put up with a bit of ribbing from your mates or work
colleagues but it is probably worth it to not have to cancel your phone. A future service enhancement will allow certain codes to be flagged for
APB (All Points Bulletin) if an item is identified as lost. This will trigger all known contact methods: SMS, automated call, email, twitter,
facebook and any other social media notifications. We expect this will be used with emergency medications and pets.
- If you are sending SMS and email messages, are my details secure?
In your user control panel you can choose to keep your details hidden. If you do this then all communication with the finder
is done through one of our reserved phone numbers and forwards the messages from you to the finder and from the finder to you. Just keep in mind that if
you choose to do this, then you cannot call each other, only communicate via SMS and email
- What is to stop my details from being abused by the finder?
If you have used our proxy accounts, once you mark the item as recovered in your control panel all correspondance with the finder is
terminated. Transcripts of any email or SMS conversations are available through your control panel
- Does the service work outside the UK
Definately. Because we utilise the power of the internet and have a really simple interface for finders to use, your asset tags will
work anywhere the finder can get a wi-fi or 3G/4G/HSDPA connection. Once contact has been made, the whole process can be completed using SMS email and
mobile phone calls directly between the finder and the owner
- Can I transfer some of my tags to someone else
For security and administration purposes, tags purchased in a pack are linked together with a Master Code. Attaching this Master
code to your control panel automatically adds all of the asset tags to your account. All codes attached to your account use the same contact details
when an item is lost. If you order a standard offer that is 10 codes or more, then these will come in multiple sets of Master codes and in
this instance you will be able to assign one of the Master codes to a different account
